The right training for a company

Each company has always allocated a budget for training.  The government too has imposed a levy for training based on the company's payroll.

The issue however is what training is the company plans to conduct to ensure maximum impact to the corporate goals.  In other words, the training conducted must be in alignment with corporate strategies.

I have two approaches in getting to the "training bottom".  One is using the BSC perspectives and the other is identifying performance gaps through the Du Pont ROE structure.

The BSC approach could be conducted at micro and macro level whereas the ROE Structure has to be compared to an industry standards to identify the company performance gaps.

When job holders with performance gaps has been identified, a competency gap analysis is performed on the job holders competency profile with that of the industry standard worker.

Through best practices in the industry competencies are identified for training delivery.
